| The Local Government sector comprises about 1.4% of the total UK building energy consumption, emitting around 0.95 million tonnes of CO2 per year. The Carbon Trust estimates that savings of up to 18% across the sector are possible totalling over £19million each year. The biggest areas of energy saving potential are heating, lighting, office equipment and, in some buildings, air conditioning. |
